RESERVE BANK Sterling Funds Lower The sterling exchange funds of the Reserve Bank on June 12 totalled £30.573,430, a decrease of £450,780. The note issue at £37,018,540 has increased by £BlOl. The statement, as at Monday, June 12, lg as follows:— .
Proportion of reserve to notes and other demand liabilities, 37.957 per cent., compared with 38.999 per cent., on June 5. The reserve on June 12 was £33,363,274, a decrease of £464,591. A year ago the reserve was £29,930.649. Sterling exchange on June 12 amounted to £30,573,430, a decrease of £459.780. Liabilities in currencies other than New Zealand cnrrenVy total £12,033 (an increase of £4811), thus making the hank’s net overseas assets £30,561,397. compared with £31,025,988 on June 5, a decrease of £464,591. A year ago these assets were £27,125.772. Advances to the State Marketing Department. total £7,941,302, an increase of £L--697,282. A year ago they were £9,199,491. Advances to the State for other purposes remain unchanged at £35,885,000, compared with £34,953,000 a year ago. 'The note Issue on June 12 totalled £37.018.540, an increase for the week of £BlO4. A year ago it was £32,192,838. and two years ago £25.098.848. Demand liabilities to the State amount to £14,431,454. an Increase of £1,840,026. The trading banks' reserve balances-total £35.824,484, a decrease of £406,448. Other liabil!ties,nt £622.101 have decreased bv ~The statement balances at £91,216.369, an increase of £909,273. Dividends Announced The directors of the National Bank of New Zealand.
