WILLIAMSON’S COMEDY SEASON
j C. Williamson’s all-star comedy company is attracting large audiences with "Arsenic and Old Lace,” which is to finish its successful run on Friday. On Saturday afternoon and evening and the following nights the company will present the first production in Wellington of Rachel Crother’s provocative play Susan and God,” which proved as popular in Australia as “Arsenic and Old 'Lace. The screen version of “Susan and God was banned by the Commonwealth authorities, but permission was granted for the stage Play to be performed, and its seasons in Sydney and. Melbourne extended to 12 months. It is a powerful comedy-drama, and gives the principal players outstanding opportunities for the display of their artistry. Bliss Neva Carr Glyn. will make her first appearance here this season in the role pSusan, in which she achieved a triumph in i'uckland. Lloyd Lamble will take the part of Barrie, which gives him further opportunities to display his talents as ■ dramatic and comedy actor. Othere wno will be making their first appearance here fiince they arrived from Australia are-Miss June Mendoza and Miss Ruth Montgomerie.
