The Hon. D. Wilson, New Zealand’s High Commissioner in Canada, has returned' to tVellington from Ottawa, having arrived in Auckland from Canada toward the end of last week. Mr. Wilson returned because of the illness of his wife in Wellington.
Mr. Appleton, chairman of the board of managers of the Wellington Technical College, received the congratulations of his fellow members last night on his election as mayor of M ellington. Reference was made to the experience Mr. Appleton had gained both as a pupil of the college and as a member of its board of management. Mr. N. E. Dalmer tendered his resignation as a member of the board of managers of the Wellington Technical College at the board’s meeting last night. Mr. Dalmer intimated that he was doing so because a change <of residence would make it difficult to attend meetings. The resignation was, on lhe motion of the chairman, received with regret, and a tribute was paid' to the service Mr. Dalmer had rendered.
