Union Company’s Accounts The accounts of the Union Steam Ship Company ot New Zealand. Limited, for the year ended September 30. 1943, show a net surplus of £111,994, after providing for depreciation, against £114,212 a year previously. After paying the preference dividends and covering all expenses, there remains £1994 to be carried forward, against £4212 brought in. No dividend is declared on the ordinary shares, the last distribution on which was 5 per cent, for 194041. The balance-sheet, shows the capital unchanged at £3,000.000. reserves 41150,000 (same), insurance fund £971,686 (£OBB-316), tonnage replacement ■ reserve £1,231,854 (nil), voyages pending £22,086 (£44,017), loans bv subsidiary companies £41.350 (same), and sundry accounts £l,560,957 (£1,905,411).
