TONIGHT’S BOXING
The Hutt Valley Boxing Association will present a strong drawing card at the Labour Hall, Petone, tonight, when they will stage a professional contest between those well-known lightweights, Ciarrie Rayner (Blenheim) and Billy Browu (Southland). Rayner proved by his victory over Jock Colvin in the recent return bout between the pair at the Wellington Town Hall that he is buck to something like his best form, and Brown showed class in outpointing “Pop-Eye” Thomas at Petone a few weeks back. The pair for tonight’s contest will be ideally matched as to height, weight and reach. A series of. amateur bouts will precede the main contest.
