LATE MR. A. J. G. HERON
The funeral yesterday morning of Mr. A. J. G. Heron, careers master of Rongotai College, was largely attended, both at the chapel anil the crematorium. Members of the stall of the college acted as pall-bearers nt the chapel and the school prefects acted at the crematorium. The service at. the chapel was conducted by the Rev. A. W. Armstrong, Lyall Bay, and at the crematorium a Alasonic service was held by the master and brethren of Raukawii Lodge, Among those present in the chapel were representatives of the staff of the college and the prefects, of the old boys’ association, the Returned Services Association, the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Army, the board of governors, principals of other secondary schools, the Secondary Schools’ Association, the ladies' auxiliary, the parents’ association, the Education Department and its inspectorate, and of many Masonic lodges. Many parents were also present, and a large number of boys of the college were gathered outside the chapel.
