MAORIS SENTENCED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, May 21. Prisoners were sentenced by Mr. Justice Blair in the Supreme Court today as follows:— ~, . Mnrewa Te Puna, returned soldier ot the North African campaign, was admitted to two years' probation on charges ot indecent-assault and attempted rape at Opotiki. , Joseph Ranapi.a and Peter launore. who pleaded guilty to charges of assau.t with intent to commit rape were each sentenced to two and a half years reformative detention. Tauhore receiving an extra six months for the theft of a watch. Wi Brown, who was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape >■ ml recommended to mercy, was given tn years' probation. , Enrcti Honotapu. aged 19, who admitted five charges of indecent assault nWniroa. was sentenced to three years reformative detention-
