DUISBURG HEAVILY RAIDED

Targets In Hanover ' LONDON, May 22. Strong forces of British bombers were again over Germany last night. A very heavy attack was made on Duijburg, big German industrial city at the junction of the Rhine and the Ruhr. The bombers flew into the Reich without encountering much opposition and their bombs were already crashing down before enemy fighters arrived. The bombs fell on Duisburg’s miles of docks and railway yards, which handle German heavy goods, the city being the centre of coal, arms and steel industries, as well as chemicals and synthetic oil. It is just over a year since the Germans repaired the damage in the last big raid. Targets in Hanover and Belgium were also attacked, and there was extensive minelaying. Thirty bombers are missing.
