Dividends Declared Woolworths (N.Z.) Ltd. have declared an interim dividend on ordinary shares of 5 per ceut., payable on July 15. Transfer books elose June 17-30 Inclusive. The directors of New Zealand Breweries Ltd. have decided to recommend to shareholders at the annual, meeting on June 21 a final dividend ot 4 per cent, for the year ended March 31, making 7 per cent, for the year, compared with 6 per cent, last year. Transfer books close Juue 821 inclusive. N.Z. Newspapers, Ltd. ■ At the annual meeting of Now Zealand Newspapers, Limited, last Friday, the chairman of directors. Sir Cecil Loys, said the total assets of £803,360 In the 1111 l balance-sheet compared with £786,952 in 1943. In property account buildings were higher b.v the construction ot a new store. With depreciation on all buildings, the net Increase was £5548. The retiring directors, Messrs. E. Anderson and W. 11. E. Flint, were re-elected. Aust. Iron & Steel tn their report directors of Australian Iron nnd Steel. Limited, which has reporfed a sharp increase in net profit, state that capital expenditure over recent years enabled the incrensert rate of production nt improved efficiency to bo maintained, offset, however, to some extent by the resultant loss of production caused by severe storm damage in Mav, 1943.
