NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Moutoa Drainage Board at a meeting to be held in the Board’s Office, Main Street, Foxton, on the 19th June, 1944, at 8 p.m., under the provisions of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Land Drainage Act, 19V8, and amendments thereto, to make and levy a General Rate of TWO PENCE in the £ on Class A: ONE PENNY AND ONE HALF-PENNY in the £ on Class B ; and ONIJ PENNY in thei £ on Class C: upon the unimproved rateable value of all properties appearing in the Valuation Roll of the Moutoa Drainage District in the abovementioned Classes, AND also to collect THREE-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY in the £ upon the unimproved value of all properties within the special Rating District. Board, when the u hirokino Cut was completed, but in view of the fact that there Is work now in progress of which I have intimate knowledge and which will be, if properly carried* out, of very great benefit to the Moutoa area, as well as the other areas concerned, also tiie promotion of a National Scheme which would if brought to fruition, eliminate the flood menace from the whole R.B. district, I have acceded to the request of a number of ratepayers to accept nomination for another period, therefore for this term I am offering rny services to the ratepayers. I realize that as a member of the Board, since its formation, I have not pleased everyone, but have tried to act in the best Interests of the whole district, and it elected, will continue to do so.
