Mr. 11. Green, acting-mayor of I’elone, has acceded to the request of a deputation that he should consent to be nominated for the office of president of the Hutt Valley R.S.A. Both Mr. and Mrs. Green have been indefatigable workers in tile interests of Hutt Valley returned servicemen and their dependants. Mr. Green is a member of the Wellington Metropolitan Patriotic Council ns well as of tiie Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council.
While working at Aotea Quay yesterday morliing, Mr. W. I. McKenzie, watersider. 18 Windsor Place, was struck by a case that fell out of n sling. He received an injury to his right shoulder and back and a lacerated wound on his forehead. He was taken to hospital by tiie Free Ambulance.
