RELIGIOUS NOTICES. CIl RI ST AD E Ll' HI A N I. EC TU R E (God Willing), L0.0.F. HALL, ALLEN STREET (Opp. Paramount Theatre), Courtenay I'l ace, SUNDAY AT 7 I'.M. Subject: "IS IT NECESSARY TO KEEP THE SABBATH NOW?” Seventh Day Adventist teaching shown to be at complete vai-liinee witli the true fuels concerning the Salibatli as revealed in tlw Scriptures. Tin- true facts (revealing that Sabbath-keeping is not incumbent upon believers in the Lord Jesus Christ) arc:— (1) 'I'HAT the command. "Iteniember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy,” was delivered to one nation only—lsraelbeing part of Hie law known as "The Law “f Moses" (Ex. 20:8, Dent. 4:8, Neh. 9:13-14, Noli. 13:15-22, Esther 3:8, Ez.e. 20:1-13;' I’sii. 147:19-20, Lain. 1-7). (2) THAT Christ was "THE END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Roms. 10:1), "nailing It to His Cross” (Cols. 2:11. See also 2 Cor. 3:6;1-l, Gals. 2:16, Gals. 3:19-26, Gals. 5:1, ■ Eph. 2:15. Acts 15:21). (3) THAT followers of Christ must render obedience not "to the old covenant” but to "tile new covenant,” the Law of Christ, i.e., "Ye arc My friends, if ye do AVHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU” (Jesus —John 15:14, John 14:15). (1) THAT nowhere among Christ's commands or anywhere in the New Testaincut do we find < , ouiinand “Re- , member the Sabbath Day to keep it ' holy.” but in eontQist we do find, “LET NO MAN JUDGE YOU . . . IN RESPECT. . . . OF THE SABBATHS” (Cols. 2:16, Roms. 14:4-6, Acts 20:7). There is no evidence in the Scriptures of the Sabbath Law being given to any nation except Israel. The strangers who came out of Egypt became Jews by adoption through obedience to the Law. Exoil. 12:4- The Lord Jesus, commanded His Disciples to observe NINE of tile 'TEN eommaildinents delivered at Sinai, but NOT the Sabbath Law contained therein. The Apostles preached until 70 A.D. on the Sabbath, but kept not the Salibatli as under tlic law. They broke bread on the first day of the week in remembrance of Christ (Acts 20:7, Acts 2:42, 1 Cor. 16:1'2, 1 Cor. 11:23-26, Helis. 10:25). Jesus said, “Salvation is of Hie Jews’’ (Jno. 4:22), and Gentiles under the new covenant, together witli Hie Jews, must become Jews inwardly (Roms. 2:28-29) through obedience to Christ (Gals. 3:20-29).
