PUBLIC NOTICES. WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF £125,000. TO be floated In New Zealand by the issue of debentures'at a rate of interest not exceeding 3$ per centum per annum, under the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1920, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their respective amendments, and of all other Aets, powers and authorities (if any) enabliug the Council in that, behalf. The Wellington City Council hereby gives public notice that such Council proposes to borrow (by way of Special Loan within the meaning of 'the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926) the sum of £125,000 for the purpose of carrying out the works specified herein. The particular purpose for which the Loan is required and the sum it is proposed to borrow are as follows:— Constructing reservoirs feeder mains and providing improvements to City Water Services.. Total £125,000. The Council proposes to pledge a special rate of Seventy-five eight-hundredths of a penny (70-800 d in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the City of Wellington as security for the said Special Loan of £125,000 and the Interest and sinking fund and other charges thereon. In connexion with the repayment of the said Special Loan it is proposed to establish a sinking fund calculated on the amount to be raised of not less than One pound ten shillings (£l/10/-) per centum per annum on the said principal' sum ot £125,000. It is proposed that the said sum of £125,000 shall be repayable at the expiration of Thirty-five years from the raising Of the Loan. It is not proposed to pay out of the said Special Loan the cost of the raising ot the Loan, or the interest, or sinking fund for the first year. It is proposed further to pay all Interest and to repay principal in respect of the said Special Loan in New Zealand. It is also proposed that the rate payable for brokerage, underwriting and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said Special Loan, or any part thereof, shall not in the aggregate exceed one-halt per cent of any amount raised. The Council proposes to pledge a special rate of Twenty-two eight hundredths of a penny (22-SOOd.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the-basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within, the City of Wellington as security for the said Special Loan of £30.000 and the interest and other charges, thereon.
It is proposed that the above-mentioned Special Loan shall be repayable by halfyearly instalments of principal and Interest extending over a period of Twenty-five years, commencing on the date of the raising of the Loan. It is not proposed to pay out of the said Special Loan the cost of the raising of the Loan, or the,interest, or any sinking fund for the first year. It is proposed further to pay all interest and to repay all principal in respect Of the said Special Loan in New Zealand.
