DISABLED SERVICEMEN’S BOWLING GREEN
When the Disabled Servicemen's Training Centre was established in Lloyd Street, Wellington, part of the project was to lay down a bowling green in front of the building. That idea has been developed and there are now said to be excellent prospects of its realization soon. Tho Wellington Bowling Centre, the Wellington R.S.A;, and the Wellington branch of the Disabled Servicemen’s Reestablishment League have combined to form a strong committee which has already made material progress. The bowling community is aiming to make a contribution of £2OOO, and the Wellington R.SA. has set about providing £7OO. It is hoped that a street day will be made available to assist the object and that a sum from art union funds will be obtainable. Mr. J. Norrie, president of the bowling centre, is chairman of the committee, Mr. Frank Loudon and Mr. C. M. Turnbull are doing the secretarial work, while Mr. Stanley Porter is honorary treasurer.
