Wine Profits Soar Net profit of Caldwell’s Wines, Ltd. (N.S.W.). at £16,515 for 1043 is the company’s highest to date, and compares with £7305 for 1942. It Is reached after providing £25,000 for taxation, against £7500 for 1942 and £2875 for depreciation, against £914. Ordinary dividend is increased from 24 per cent, to 5 per cent., the best since 1928. Coal Company Dividends The directors of the Westport Coal Company, Ltd., have declared an Interim dividend of 6d. n share, payable on May 17. The accounts ot the Kaitangata Coal 'Company (Dunedin) for the year ended February 29 show a net profit of £4873. against £6386 in the previous year and £7980 in 1942. A dividend of 1/6 a share is proposed, against 2/- last year. Mt. Morgan Surplus Mount Morgan. Ltd., reports an estimated working surplus for the four weeks ended April 30 or £2255. not allowing for depreeiation, overhead expenses of £1750. and preference share dividend, £1231. Capital expenditure amounted to £3856. Operations were continuous, and ore deliveries Increased over the previous period. Both mills ran full time, with Increased turnover. Smelter conditions were normal.
