AUSTRALIAN PILOT’S BAG
LONDON. May 16. An Australian Squadron leader, .Charlie Scherf, shot down five enemy aircraft this afternoon between Stettin and the Baltic seaboard, four of them in five 'minutes. He got his first victim, an He. 111, over the Baltic, and the others in the neighbourhood of Kubitzer Bay, including an He. 177 and a bomber which blew up in the air.
