KEPT IN BARRACKS
U.S. Troops’ Credentials Checked In Britain (Received May 17, 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, May I'7. The entire United States Army in Britain, except units in transit, was confined to barracks for the 24 hours ended midnight last night, with the object Of checking the credentials of every man ou duty in this theatre of war. The credentials of men in barracks were examined, and military police stopped those in streets, including officers.
