“Sport.” Rongotai, wishes to know which of the two Australian lawn tennis players, Vivian McGrath or John Bromwich. used the unorthodox or two-handed backhand. He also asks their ages. ; Answer: McGrath was born in Bew South Wales in 1016. His favourite and best-scoring stroke is a backhand, which he plays with 'both hands. He plays all other strokes with the right hand. Bromwich was born on November 14, 1918. His favourite and best-scoring stroke is a two-handed crosscourt, or sideline drive. For shots on his left he grips the racket with his left hand, and plays with one hand; for anything on bis right he uses both hands, both to drive and volley. He serves with the right hand.
