HUTT LOCAL BODIES
There is a number of nominations outside of the tickets for the various Hutt local bodies. Nominations, which, closed yesterday, total as follows:— Lower Hutt. —Mayoralty, two candidates; city council, 28 candidates for 12 seats; Hutt Valley Electric Power Board; 9 candidates for 4 Lower Hutt representatives ; Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board, 6 candidates for 3 Lower Hutt seats; Wellington Hospital Board, 4 candidates for 2 vacancies; Wellington Harbour Board, 5 candidates for 2 vacancies for the combined districts of Hutt and Makara counties, Lower Hutt city, the boroughs of Petone, Eastbourne, and Upper Hutt, and the town district of Johnsonville.
Petone.—Mayoralty, 2 candidates; borough council, IS candidates for 9 seats; Petone ’and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board, 6 candidates for 3 Petone seats; Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, 4 candidates for 2 Petone seats; Wellington Hospital Board, 2 candidates for one Petone sent.
Upper Hutt. —Mayoralty, 2 candidates ; borough council, 17 candidates for 8 seats; Hutt Valley. Electric Power Board, 2 candidates for 1 Upper Hutt seat; Wellington Hospital Board, 2 candidates for one vacancy. Eastbourne. —Mayoralty, 2 candidates; borough council. 16 candidates for 8 seats: Hutt Valley Electric • Power Board, 2 candidates for 1 vacancy for the combined district of Eastbourne-Johnson-ville.
Hutt River Board. —Eleven candidates for 5 seats.
