Galway Guild Helpers Pay Tribute To Her Work

For her valuable work as chairman of the Wellington branch of the Lady Galway Guild, the mayoress. Mrs. Hislop, was entertained at a party yesterday afternoon, given by her committee and members of the various groups in the city associated with it. On belialf of. all pre* sent, Mrs. M. Luckie paid a tribute to Mrs. Hislop for her unremitting work for the guild for more than four years. A fountain pen was presented to Mrs. Hislop as a token of esteem from those asso•ciated with her. Without the splendid help, of all the women, Mrs. Hislop said, she could not have carried on. She stressed the necessity for the work the guild was doing, through its women helpers, who were always ready when called on, .no matter what the emergency. Mrs. Hislop specially mentioned the great help given by Mrs. A. S. Mitchell, who had worked at the rooms every day. . Mrs. Hislop said she would not discontinue her work for the guild; it would be carried on in another capacity. . Elocutionary items were given by Miss Lucy Cowan and afternoon tea was served. The Victoria League rooms, where the party was held, was beautifully decorated with flowers.
