Last year’s champions, Petone. lacked their usual form in the Rugby League fixture at Newtotvn Park ou Saturday. After a disappointiiig first half they , fed by live points, but- Aotea. playing vigorous and determined football, evened (lie score by some hard forward play which kept, them on their opponents’ line for ten minutes before Ha we dived over. The play was even for the remainder ot the game. The final score was: Petone. 5 (try by Curry, converted by Penman); Aotea, 5 (try by Ha we. converted by’Greenland). Hokowhitu-Atu were unluckv to meet a team of such calibre ns Miramar in tlieir first game, but they should improve with a tew more games. The score was: Miramar 20 (tries by Mclntosh, 2, Prince and Wood. Gollop converting three and kicking a field goal), Hokowhitu-Atu 0. In a one-sided game. Korodale, 38. beat Central St.-George. 5. ' Kandwick, 46 (tries by Hopkins 5, Corbin 2. Hedberg, Steele, Milligan, eight conversions by O'Halloran), beat Newtown, 2 (goal by Beaton).
