HOOPER.—OnI May 13, 1944 at his'residence, Ba-bbacom’be Avenue Otaki, John James, dearly beloved husband o£ Grace S. Hooper, loved daddy of Eleanor and Rex, and ibeloved brother o£ Florence (■Wellington), Will (Christchurch), Stanley (Sydney), Ernest (Greymouth), also dear friend of Mrs. W. Sowman (Tawa I‘lat), In his 74th year. SHORT.—On May 13, 1044, at Wellington, James Henry Short, beloved husband of Alice Short, of 73 Munro Street, Seatoun, and loving father of Dorothy; in his 56th year (late Workshop Manager of Public Works Workshops). TOY.—On Thursday, May 11, 1944, (suddenly), Leonard Freeman Toy, dearly beloved husband of Eleanor Pearl Toy, of No. 5 Tawhitl Road, Hawera; aged 58 years. Deeply regretted. WAKELIN.—On May 13, 1544, at Wellington. Wiiliamina Smith (Win), dearly beloved wife of W. H. (Billy) Wakelin, 63 Ross Street, Kilbirnie, and loving mother of Jack, Bill (overseas), and the late Mrs. A. C. (Jean) Truscott, and the late James Robert Wakelin. So loved, so mourned. WAKELIN.—On May 13. 1944, at Wellington, Wiiliamina Smith (Win), loving sister of Mrs. Donald Scott (New Plymouth). So loved, so mourned.
