A housewife, Marion Elizabeth Jeffery, aged 32, was convicted and fined £2 with costs by Mr. Stilwell. S.M., In the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday for failing to register for essential work within the prescribed period. The subject for the foundation day address to be given at Victoria University College on May 24 by Mr. A. E. Campbell will be "Tlie Outlook for Education in New Zealand." Mr. Campbell, as director of Hie New Zealand Council for Educational Research, has been closely associated with recent educational movements and investigations.
