Election Of Officers There was no annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union this year. Election of officers is taking place by postal ballot. Nominations have closed, and Mr. A. A Baker, chairman of the Auckland Rugby Union, is elected unopposed as president of the Dominion controlling body- At o ae time Mr. Baker, who succeeds Mr. D. M. Suedding (Otago), was actively associated with the Poneke Football Club in ton, and as a player he gained Wellington representative honours. Also unopposed are the North Island members of the N.Z.It.U. F. E. Sutherland (Auckland), G. A. Madison (Hawke’s Bay), and A. St. C. Seiche. (Waikato). Two vice-presidents are .required, and Mr. E. V. Phillips (Canterbury) will take office as the South Island nominee along with either. Mr. E. McKenzie (Wairarapa) or Mr. J. A. Guineas (Bav of Plenty) representing the North Island. For the three South Island seats "on the council the nominees are: Messrs. E. V. Phillips (Canterbury). D. M. Spedding (Otago); W. A. H. Oliver (Southland), F. J.' Lock (Nelson), and S. H. Sullivan (South Canterbury). An election Is also necessary for the executive committee. eight nominations having been received for seven seats, ine nominees are: Messrs S.S. Dean (Southland). J. Prendeville (WeHlngton) A. C. Kitto (North Auckland), and A. McDonald (Otago). Captain C. L. Mullany (Niiib Country), and Messrs. J. H. Parker (Canterbury). L. V. Carmine (Bay of Plenty), and T. A. Fletcher (Auckland). Voting papers are to be returned by noon, ou Friday. May 26.
