PARCEL TRAFFIC
Big Increase Recorded
Figures released yesterday by tho Post-master-General, Mr. Webb, show a phenomenal increase in the volume of parcel traffic for overseas handled by the Post Office, since the outbreak of war. Details are as follows Weight.
Of the parcels posted in 1943, ihembers of the New Zealand forces in the South-west Pacific were sent no tewer than 609,221. Next followed members of the Middle East forces with 523.630 parcels. Civilians in the United Kingdom received 214,030; servicemen in the United Kingdom, 108,836; servicemen in Canada, 20,955; and prisoners of war, 20,561.
