Bank of Aust., 18/8. /' Dividends Declared Alloy Steel (N.Z.), Limited, advises that a final dividend o£ 34 per cent., making a total of 7 per cent, for the year, together with a bonus of 1/- a share will be recommended by’ the directors at the annual meeting on May 25. The dividend, if approved. will be paid on May 25, to members on the share register as at April 26. The dividend and bonus rate are unchanged. ■ Knnieri Gold Dredging has declared a dividend of 1/- a share, payable on May 19. The transfer books of P. and O. Colonial Stock Trust. Prospects Considerably better results from the area ahead of the dredge were expected, said the chairman, at the annual meeting of Austral New Zealand Mining Ltd., in Sydney recently. If anything like the returns indicated by boring could be secured, the financial position would soon show, marked improvement. The dredge should be operating in the area ‘ north of Lowbtirn bridge within two or three months, when the better returns would be looked tor. The New Zealand Government's ban on Sunday working had made good working time impossible.
