MEETING WITH WAR CABINET
Luncheon For Members Aleiubers of tlie British mission met the Mter Cabinet yesterday, when a discussion was held extending over two hours. They were also the guests of the Government at a luncheon, over which the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, presided. After toasts to the King and tlie President of the United States hai. been honoured, Mr. Nash proposed tlie health of the guests. He referred to the debt New Zealand owed to the United Kingdom for supplying material and equipment when tlie danger in the I aeffic was verv real and very close. He tuso mentioned the need for closer associations between the United States and Hie British Commonwealth, whose responsibilities J’or a sound peace in consultation witli Russia, Chiun and the other United Nations wore probably greater than those of any two of the ini Hons at present at war against the Axis.
