For failing to report as a reservist, Harvev Paul Thomas Archbold, carpenter, aired 2*3, was sentenced to two months’ imnrisonment by Mr. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court,’ Wellington. SeniorSergeant G. J.- Paine said that Archbold was a single man and had been classified grade 1. He was at present employed as a carpenter at an aerodrome. Mr. J. A. Carrad appeared for Archbold, whose appeal on the groti.id of conscientious objection had been dismissed. He eaid Archbold was prepared to do any work .required, but would not serve in the armed forces.
