STOLE A DIAMOND RING
.A term of 12 months’ probation on condition that she returned to her home .in Blenheim, was imposed by Mr. -Stout, S.M., in the -Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, on Kathleen Mari'e Hogg, 18, who pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a diamond ring valued at £3O, the property of Patricia Ethel Barnham. Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan said accused had been directed to several jobs, but had not stayed and had found work In a milk 'bar. She had associated with servicemen. She shared a room with complainant, from whom she had- stolen the ring, and later -stated it had been given her by a serviceman to whom she was engaged. -She had been in trouble with the manpower authorities.
