STATUS OF COUNTRY GIRLS

Not as an offset to the, difficulty of obtaining domestic help but with the idea of elevating the status of the country girl the post-war courses at Massey College will be planned for young women who live in rural districts. The college has done this for country boys and it plans to do tiie same, in some measure, for the girls. The courses will give them a little of the benefits of university life and some scientific training. Representatives of the W.D.F.U. and the Women’s Institutes have been appointed to act with the board of governors at Alassey College in planning the scheme.
