BAPTIST UNION ASSEMBLY

The meetings of the Assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand were continued in Wellington on Saturday morning with n good attendance of delegates, the Rev. H. G-. Goring presiding. _ It was reported that the jubilee circulating loan fund of 11 years’ standing had in that time loaned to the churches

a total of over £7OOO. Following the presentation of the report on Church union, there was a lively but cordial debate, indicating the desire of the assembly to leave the door open for further conversations with the Churches of Christ. On 'Saturday afternoon a of venue on account of the weather became necessary and the assembly outing was changed' into an inside gathering of a social character in Wesley Hall, Taranaki Street. It was addressed by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, who conveyed the good wishes of the Government for the prosperity of the assembly and the denomination.

At night the church wag packed for a youth rally, at which two exit college students were dedicated to the ministry. The speaker was -the Rev. F. Hayes Lloyd, whose subject was “This Magnificent Hour for Youth.”
