Championships Of Wellington College

The finals to decide the Wellington College boxing championships for 1943 were got off yesterday afternoon before a large number of interested spectators, including th Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, who was attended by Major Holland-Martin. The boxing in all bouts was spirited, and the standard of performance good.' The preliminary bouts were decided on Tuesday and Wednesday. The results of the finals are: — Tigerweight: K. Mcßrearty (6.4) beat 11. M. Mullins (6.8).

Bantamweight: K. G. -Stewart (7.7) beat K. A. Handcock (7.4). Junior featherweight: R. W. Gray (7.12) beat J. W. Coates (8.2). Senior featherweight: G. J. Denis (8.6) beat T. P. Brice (8,9). Lightweight: M. Buchanan (9.3) beat R. Nave (9.3). Middleweight: D. B. Long (10.10) beat J .T. -Martin (10.1). Heavyweight: T. C. Svenson (11.12) beat J. T. Roberts (14.2).

Welterweight: M. T. Dcterte (9.12) drew with L. L. Mathewson (9.12). Light-heavyweight: -S. J. Williamson (11.7) beat R. McK. ‘Murray (11.5).
