Dividends Declared The Bank of Adelaide has declared a dividend at the rate of 5 per <; enL - per annum for the half-year ended September 30, payable on November 16. iransrer books close November 3-16 inclusive. Tile New Zealand branch of Amalgamated Wireless (A’asia), Ltd., has received advice from head office, Sydney, that a final dividend of 4 per cent, has been declared for the half-year ended June 30, making 8 per cent, for the year, an unchanged rate, payable on November 1— Transfer books will be closed trem October 29 till November 12. With the amount, brought forward, there is £6896 available. Directors Broken Hill Pty., Co., Ltd., recently announced that Mr. Leonard Grant, ‘ manager of the Newcastle steelworks, had been appointed general manager of the conipanv in succession to the late Mr. Leslie Bradford. Mr. Grant has been connected with the steelworks since their inception, first as a metallurgist and later passing through nearly all departments till he became manager. Extended Wool Control The task of returning to normal in -woollen factory activity in the United Kingdom will be difficult, Winchcombe, Carson. Ltd., reports. Firms which have been closed should have an equal opportunity to recover peacetime trade with those which have remained in business.
