ENGINEER RETIRING

Mr. Frederick W. Good

One of the pioneer engineers associated with the earliest phases of electrical development in the city of Wellington. Mr. Frederick W. Good, assistant electrical engineer, retires from tiie service of the Wellington City Corporation next month, after serving for 3SJ years in the electricity department and in the company which preceded it. Mr. Good, .who has almost reached the age limit of 65 years, is a native of Beer, in the County of Devonshire, England. After leavhig school, he entered tiie employment of the Cardiff City Council, and for two years was a member of their electrical staff. He then went to ’Durban, 'South Africa, where he was employed for four years as shift engineer by the Natal Government Railways in their generating station, and, subsequently, 'with the Durban City Council as testing electrician anil assistant mains superintendent, in February 1905. be joined the old Gulcher Company iu Wellington, continuing in Hint employ when tiie 'business was taken by I lie Wellington City Corporation in 1907. Since then Mr. Good lias acted as inspector, superintendent, and assistant electrical engineer.
