Some ibis drives of stock are already being made from the East Coast to the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato. One which was seen last week in the Waioeka Gorge, on its way through to the Bay of Plenty, numbered 500 head of young beet stock, all in excellent condition. The cattle were strung out along almost a mile of the narrow and winding ibush _road, and inade_a most_striliiiig picture.
