OBITUARY

Captain H. S. Blackburne

The. death is reported from Auckland in a Press Associaiton telegram of Captain H. S. Blackburne, of Epsom, former nautical adviser to the New Zealand Government, and chief examiner of masters and mates at Wellington. Captain Blackburne, who was in his ninetieth year, was educated at. St. John's College, Tamaki, while his father, the Rev. Samuel Blackburne, was principal there. He was the author of several famous nautical books.
