“KIPPENBERGER” MARCH
(Official N.Z.E.F. News Service.) JERUSALEM, October 10. Men of the Fifth New Zealand Brigade paraded today in a desert camp to hear for the first time their new brigade march. The battalions formed three sides of a square, and after a short address hy Brigadier K. B. Stewart, the march was pT-ivcd by the brigade band under Lieutenant C. C. E. .Miller. “This march, called Kippenberger, has been adopted as our own march in honour of the gallant and distinguished officer who commanded the brigade in so many actions.’’ said Brigadier Stewart. “I want every officer, non-commissioned officer and man to remember and recognize the tune and what it signifies.’’ The march was composed by Driver Aoiles, of the N.Z.A.S.C., who served under Brigadier Kippenberger in the pre-war Territorials.
