LETTERS TO EDITOR

Hutt Bridge Traffic

Sir, —I am glad that the American authorities have been given power to control all traffic over the Hutt Bridge. Control of all traffic is in everybody’s interests and hitherto we have had a difficult situation where our American, friends have instituted a very efficient control over their own traffic, yet their sentries have had to stand by and see some civilian traffic completely ignoring the instructions. All sensible people will welcome this evidence of co-operation and trust that our visitors will fully exercise the powers given to bring offenders to ■book—l am, etc., SWEET COMMON SENSE.
