Tests In Portugal

(Received October 11, 10 p.m.) . LISBON, October 19.

Portgual had its first full-scale blackout during the weekend. Portuguese legions of the naval brigade were ordered to report to barracks, with full equipment. The War Ministry has requisitioned all private cars for manoeuvres which will be held this month, and has ordered all Lisbon garages to be prepared to accommodate armoured vehicles. Many families have already evacuated Lisbon.
