Late News FURTHER GAINS IN ITALY
Indian Troops With Allies GREEK AIR BASES RAIDED AGAIN LONDON, October 10. A communique from the Allied headquarters states that troops of the Fifth Army have improved their positions along the Volturno River. Troops of the Eighth Army captured Larino, on the north bank of the Biferno Kixei, 18 miles south-west of Termoll. In the centre the Fifth Army captured a town 14 miles north of Benvenuto. A correspondent says that our troops have advanced two miles beyond lermoli and in the centre have advanced four miles. , ~ ~ „ The correspondent makes mention loi the first time of troops from India operating in Italy. , • a:. Bombers of the North-west African A r Force last night attacked four airfields in Greece, including Salonika, Athens and Larissa, and also raided an aerodrome in Crete. In all operations 20 enemy planes were destroyed for fbe loss of one.
