(Received October 8, 11.30 p.m.) . BUENOS AIRES, October 8. The Foreign Office has announced that the Ambassador to "Washington, Senor Felipe Espil, has been recalled, and has been succeeded by Senor Adrian Escoba. The “New York Times”. Washington correspondent says that diplomatic circles interpret Espil’s recall as a sign ot Argentina’s displeasure at the United States’ refusal to grant lend-lease aio. Espil has been one of the. most popular members of the Diplomatic Corps in Washington since 1931, and advocated better understanding between Argentina and the United States.
