LONDON, October 8.
Czech forces which were recently transferred from the Middle East to Italy for an invasion of Montenegro have landed at Budva, in Dalmatia, 10 miles south of Cattaro. They are commaude'd by Lieut.-Col. Ruzicka, and they were equipped and trained by the British in the Middle East.
His first public reference to the disruption among the. was made by King Peter in a broadcast from Cairo when he called upon the Yugoslavs to forget ancient grudges, cease the present, quarrelling and unite behind General Mikhailoviteh and the other leaders for the battle of liberation. “I am sure the majority of my people have heen deeply concerned at the lack of harmony among the Yugoslavs in their own country and outside,” he said. “Our dispute will profit only the enemy. There have been mistakes in the past and now we are paying for them, but the day of deliverance is not far off.” A war correspondent with the Partisans, or the People’s Army, has sent a dispatch to London telling of the de-
termination of the men who are fighting to throw off the German yoke. The army has grown by tens of thousands since the collapse of the Italians, and in their ranks are fiery patriots who are waging war from the Adriatic Sea to the banks of the Danube. Fighting with a lack of arms, they have scored daring victories and withstood heavy reverses. The com. mander-in-chief is a mysterious figure known as Tiso.

At Imotsko, in the area of Split, 150 Germans were killed in a clash with a German column which tried to break through between Sinj and Knin. The column was repulsed with heavy losses and forced to return to Sl “i'n central Bosnia a German armed train was derailed by units of the Fifth Division near Trabnik. Thirty-five Germans were killed. . ~ „„ “On the island of Lussin, the capture of which was announced on Tuesday, the Partisans captured eight coastal guns, four heavy guns and one tanker with about. 10,800 gallons of petrol. The whole of the Istrian Peninsula is in revolt, and local fighting is taking place everywhere. A German tank column which attempted to break through from Trieste to Fiunie was repulsed, and 10 German tanks were destroyed. The Partisans also lost tanks.”
