ESCAPE TO ALLIED LINES
LONDON. October 5. Major-General 11. B. Klopper, of the Second South African Division, who commanded at Tobruk and was taken prisoner when the Germans captured it in June, 1942, has reached the Allied lines in Italy after a daring trek of 150 miles across enemy territory, says, a Cairo message. He escaped from a prison camp at iSulmona.
