OBITUARY

Mr. K. E. Wiggins

The death occurred recently in Lower Hutt of Mr. K. E. Wiggins at the age of 53. He was the youngest son of the late Mr. William Wiggins, Wellington, and was educated at Wellington College and Christ’s College, Christchurch M ben he left school he joined his father s hnn, William Wiggins Ltd., and was a director at the time of his death. He served in the last war, enlisting with the first advance party that went to Samoa. Later he 'WAS in the 13th Battery m Egypt, went with them to France, and was with them till he was invalided home in 191 • Mr. Wiggins was keenly interested m all sport. In his younger days he was an active Rugby football player and swimmer. and up to the time of his death an enthusiastic player of golf and tennis. I-Ie leaves a widow and four sons. Iwo of his sons have been serving overseas since tlie commencement of tlie war. lan in (be Navy and Douglas in the Middle East. Mrs. E. Gilligan Mrs. E. Gilligan, a Taranaki pioneer who arrived in I’utcii 65 rears ago and had lived there ever since, died recently. She was born in County Kerry. Ireland. Her husband, Mr. I’. S. Gilligan, died four years ago. Mrs. Gilligan was a woman of kinillv disposition and hail a wide circle of friends. She is survived by five sons and four daughters. Mrs. Ernest Queree The death occurred in Auckland recently of Mrs. Ernest Queree, sistei’-m--law of Messrs. W. J. and T. G. Queree. Wellington, and who for a quarter ot a century was well-known in Wellington musical circles. .Mrs. Queree for over 20 years taught vocal production and tlie pianoforte in M’ellingtoii. and was successful in turning out some well-equipped mipils. One of the most brilliant of her pianoforte pupils was, perhaps, her own daughter. Miss Renee Queree, wlm before iier marriage to Mr. Leonard Wallis gme recitals in Wellington and elsewhere.
