End Of U.S. Isolationism Predicted NEW YORK, October 4. “The United States must abandon isolationism for ever,” declared Mr. William Green, president of the American Federation of Labour, addressing the annual convention at Boston. “The war has taught us that peaceful intentions are not enough. America must join with other nations of good will to preserve the peace throughout the civilized world. That is why Labour demands a place at the peace table to see to it that the will of the people is not thwarted by professional international diplomats.” Mr. Green's statement that America cannot isolate herself evoked resounding applause.
