Late War News COAST LANDING IN ITALY

New Leap By The Eighth Army

LONDON, October 4.

A coi’re.spondout at the Allied headquarters rej>orts that, troops of the Eighth Army have made a daring surprise landing in the rear of the German troops opposing their advance up the east eoast of Italy. They seized the town of Termoli and held on to it till the main forces linked up with them.

Another message states that, forces on the right of the Fifth Army have crossed the Calore lliver north of Bene-' vento. This means that the flank of tiny German defence line on the Voltwrno Giver is now turned.
