Wellington Beaten By Canterbury
In a sea of mud. and with rain falling during the greater part of the game. Canterbury beat Wellington in a representative Rugby League match at Christchurch on Saturday afternoon by six -points to three. Despite the atrocious conditions, both teams played good football, and kept the ball moving at pace. . The Wellington full-back, F. M. Solomon, was the best back on the field, kicking with precision, and saving his side time and again. L. Jamieson also played a sound game at second five-eighths, ard J« Greenfield, D. Penman and P. Simon stood out among the Wellington forwards J. O’Halloran, the half-back, and G. Nuttall and R. Wbittey. the wingers, were the best of the Canterbury backs, and Smith. D. Albrid and J. Neale kept going tirelessly among the forwards. For Canterbury. Neale scored two tries, and P. Smith scored a try for Wellington.
