Tlrnigh there was not the usual good alteiidniii’C at the I'limnierlon Womens Institute's monthly meeting, those members who did attend spent an enjoyable afternoon. A song was given by the president. Mrs. Southwood, ami Airs. Burd, the Plimniertou delegate, gave a full report of the .North Island eonletence held at Gisborne.
.Memorial Scholarship. . , Old girls of 'Wellington Giris College, who attended school in Miss Hamiltons time have raised £l2O to be the capital sum for an annual award of a Martha Hamilton memorial scholarship tor the college. They have asked that, the scholarship begin in this, the school jubilee year.
Swimming Champion M eds. A wedding of hiterest in sporting circles took place in Auckland on Saturday morning, when Miss Monica Anne Leydon. former woman swimming champion of New Zealand, was married to Mr. John Roland Butler. Petone. Wellington.
