The Labour Government
Sir,—Mr. Fraser, having recovered from the shock he received on election night (so evident in his mournful early Sunday morning broadcast), now Seeks to prove to electors that the Labour Party’s victory was “definite, decisive, and full.” Already the Government—or ' those who dictate its policy—considers its position secure enough to carry on its propaganda of wild assertions to the electors of Nbav Zealand, at the same time blindly ignoring the fact that 50 per cent, of the people yho voted last Saturday, voted against its dictatorship and regimentation. ■ Does the Prime Minister believe that a "definite, decisive and full”. majority of the electors in his own constituency supported him or his party? We’re not all so gullible! Shakespeare’s contemporary once wrote: “Truth is the trial of itselt, and needs no other touch.”. The electors themselves have formed their own judgment. —I am, etc. —BEN JONSON. Oamaru, September 30.
