RELIGIOUS NOTICES. “THERE IS NO PEACE. SAITH THE LORD, UNTO THE WICKED” (Isa. 48:22). ■MANY people very commendably desire "peace on earth,” but those same people are simply deluding themselves if they imagine they can bring "peace on earth” as a result' of their own efforts. The ■Scriptures declare that “there is a time of war and a time ol’ peace” (Ece. 3:8). Tlie present is a "time of war,” and the sure Word of Bible prophecy reveals that there will bo no settled peace on eartli until the personal return of the I,ord Jesus Clu'ist "with power and great glory.” Christ revealed that immediately prior to His return there would be "distress of nations with perplexity . . . men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which ai r e coming on the earth” i Luke 21:25-27), and Bible prophecy generally reveals that Christ returns to tlie earth in the midst of the greatest war of all time, i.e., the latterday invasion of Hie Holy Land. I Ezekiel, chap 38. note verse 20, Dan. 11:10-15, Dau. 12:1-3. Zach. 12:9-11. Zach. 14:1-1, Joel 3:1-2. Isa. 17:12-14, Rev. 11:1S.) Therefore, in view of what is revealed in the Scriptures all human efforts, for “peace on earth” are doomed to failure. Peace on earth is beyond doubt the Divine objective, but that objective will not lie achieved until Christ comes. But even then there will uot be immediate peace. In view of the iniquitous and Godless state of tho World the Scriptures declare that Christ will first reveal Himself as a “man of war" (Isa, 42:13) and will “smite the nations’’ (Rev. 19:15) by very drastic Divine judgments (2 Thess. 1:7-9, Hebs. 12:26-29, Jude 14-15, Rev. 19:11-16. Isa. 2:10-21. Isa. 26:20-31, Isa. 66:15-16, Jer. 25:30-33, Micah. 5:15, Hag. 2:7, Mai. 4:1-3, Psa. 46:8). As a result of these j'udgments the ungodly and wicked will be exterminated from the earth and those that remain will have been taught righteousness (Psa. 37:30, Mai. 4:1-3, Tsa. 26:9). It is then that Christ will assume His role of "The Prince of Peace.” and for the first time iu the history of the human race all nations of the earth will enjoy lasting peace and real security (Isa. 9:6-7. Psa. 72:7. Isa. 32:17, Zech. 9:10, Luke 2:14, Psa. 46:9, Isa. 2:2-4, Isa. 11:110, Micah.' 4:3). Reader, the foregoing will become clear to you if you make yourself acquainted with “The Gospel of the Kingdom of God,” which Jesus preached (Matt. 9:35, Luke 8:1, Mark 16:16, Mark 10:15). For a thorough exposition of this gospel you should read the book—"CHRISTENDOM ASTRAY.” A copy will be seut free, on application to “BIBLE TRUTH," Box 71, 'Wellington. / USED CARS I’OIC SALE, MOTOR-Car Sales, 74 Ghuznee St., Buy Sell, Exchange Motor-cars.
